Nice reminders of past shenanigans there Shaun, not too much longer till FT Adventures or whatever the new incarnation for this season kicks off with is it?
I have largely filled the NEFTA Classic entry but realised I didn't have Jose or Jesus' surnames.
I filled the cheque in but realised Abbey isn't called Abbey anymore, do you think it will matter?
I don't think it will matter but I'd have thought they'd have sent you a new cheque book.
Jesus Sangroniz Otegui.
Jose Antonio Sancho.
Cheers mate:)
Have you had a play with the new lady in your life yet Greg, and has she told you her name yet?
I ASSUME Greg has a new gun. Or maybe not?
Threesome!!
Hope all is well Mr G?
Sorry Phil, yes. The patter of tiny steyrs
Yin and Yang. Such is life.
Well, I trust and hope you'll be joining us on the firing line very soon.
Mr Gee, how the devil are you?
evening lads just back from local. 5 great pints of guinness
thanks shaun great picture of me don`t you think ! AT MY FINEST MOMENT
Hooray found this blog...Again the booking open for the Gp 1 on the BFTA website...Roll on Sunday
Evening all, how is everyone?
Hello again has it worked this time?
I think I prefered the wig!
Evening Greg have you booked in for GP1?
Karl any luck on the job front?
No, just a minute.
HOW THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU 'SPOSED TO LOGIN NOW?
OK, I'm in. What session are we doing?
left hand side of the booking form.
Enter your BFTA number and then Ralph. It should recognise you.
afternoon
BOSTIN'!!!!!!!
I like this new system. It means if you don't have a number then you can't book in online.
Has everyone gone to bed?
Anyone know what fill connector I need for the Steyr, my PT one doesn't seem to fit.
ask daz greg
just back from pub again
It's alright, panic over. Steyr is scoped, Steyr is gassed up, some minor adjustments have been made to butthook & cheekpiece, allen key has been lost..........all is well!
so you getting it out on saturday mate ..............and the gun!
I need some alone time with her to find out her clicks & learn her name.
Holá compañeros.
No one about tonight?
Hola Greg.
I hope you enjoy your new Steyr. Good machine!
Did you receive mi e-mail clarifying our surnames?
I did, thanks Jesús.
I did think about knocking today on the head workwise & going to the 'ride in stead to sort my clicks but we have a bloke out today & it would have left them in it so I'll have a play tomoz just to see if they're very different.
Evening all.
Whats the difference in scope heights Gregory, a few mill not going to far out.
Me, question is do i use a half set up scope and have an educated guess at the dialling or go with my usual PR Leup. Both got advantages.
Picked dog up this afternoon its so final.
Good luck tomorrow lads!
I'll be with the other also rans enjoying a shoot at Purley Chase.
Remind me, must remember to pick up the goldfish bowl.
Falcon prototype staying on, wont do any worse even with quickly done ranges, different scope height and assume all diallings double up.
Its a bit top heavy now so kneelers and standers are touch and go but could well mess up with the diallings and how they are marked on turret.
See how it goes and got a lift for a change.
Millride Clubs Cup champs again, two years running.
Well done Marc 5th in Masters.
Well done Millride!!
Brilliant news from Castle and will look forward to hearing all about it.
In return, me Kev and Shaun will tell you about our morning at Purley.
Greg, of course was conspicuous by his absence. He must have been shooting elsewhere.
Far Coley Roy.
Perhaps Gregory had a late night in his passion wagon.
Yes, it is clear that someone's priorities have changed!
Hello peeps.. Already looking forward to next year to make it three on the trot..
Well done team..
Sorry, I did know it was F/C.
I do hope my last post wasn't open to misinterpretation. What I meant was that we've all heard Greg say that we should get our priorities right and how he'd never let mundane domestic drudgery interfere wiyh HIS shooting. I can't imagine him missing out on such a perfect morning. When he comes on I'm sure he'll tell us where he shot today.
Well done the 'ride!!!!!!!
Couldn't be with you yesterday or today but was in spirit.
Performance yesterday at 'ride leads me to think I have made the right decision regarding my purchase, a most rewarding rifle to shoot, very satisfying to shoot standing but my kneelers have gone to pot!
Minimum setting up yesterday, no windage issues & only had to move the top turret 15 clicks or so. 1 dropped in the first 10 but my performance deteriated as I went on to finish on a 230/16, it will come together I'm sure though.
Tell us more about F/c this morning, i.e. course, conditions, number of shooters, and was it better for restricting the numbers.
How they hangin Greg.
Think we had a full team there by 8am. Dont ask clocks go forward in three weeks.
Personally it was a joy to shoot because there was no annoying waiting around at lane 1 for 50 mins like last year. One of the last away at 1.50pm since kick off at 9.30am, sure it was after 4.30pm last year.
Didnt know they changed the concept for this year.
The way i see it is less revenue for MFTA a bad thing. What about a separate Clubs Cup comp where multiple teams can be had again.
The MFTA Masters replaced the MFTA Showdown in 2003. Three 20 shot courses 1min per lane.
Evening chaps. Just back from some in-law hospitality. I had some good news earlier, someone has dropped out of the Frayed Knot team so I'm in. I'm so excited I'm like a boy with his first Lego kit!
Good one Mr C,
Hi Jonta, well done today!
where`S GREG IS HE FEEDING THE PONY AGAIN !
see i ain`t good enough for the frayed knot team either. well done shaun
Next year Ian

C mon how about shooting for NEFTA i doubt they will field a full team.
I wasnt good enough this time two years ago, 33rd and didnt qualify for Masters for years knowingly.
Gregs entertaining i believe.
oh mans in the stable
jon you do not know how happy i am......but jou are right
We'll have no horse pay here.
Its a familly site
C mon the crook
Balti you stud muffin.
No shenanigans tonight, just dropped a very tired girlfriend home & stowed my gear.
Well done Shaun & Ian.
evening greg ....hows the austrian babe
i take it she needs rehoofing now
the girl friend i mean
Sweet mate, sweet! Just surprised at the general lack of mucking about to gether shooting so!
A new methodology is needed for my kneelers & loading a pellet, I dropped a few pellets Saturday failing to find that breech!
mined you greg not only have you dropped a few pellets. dropped a few skirts as well a mate
Greg, you missed a perfect day at P/c today.....and a nice pint afterwards.
Evening chaps!
Anyone up for some pre-season FT chat?
My HFT gun is just for squirrels now as I'm all out FT training.
WELL DONE LADS!
http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc267/Baltipal/ClubsCupWinnersMillride10.jpg
who's this newcomer?
Hello young lad, interested in air rifles are you?
Hi Shaun, what's new?
Desire!!
I'm feeling FT hungry.
Just had a few with the Tx and the Ev. Looking forward to Millride on Saturday.
How did you find the Steyr?
Alittle easier to use than the PT, as expected as it fits better. Standers were excellent but kneelers problematical, not as locked as with my twp PT's, I clearly need to find a new technique with the Steyr.
Looking forward to another go now.
Seen the results earlier, did better than i thought, considering i took a flyer.
Marc 5th after shoot off.
John and me joint 7th
Think Mark did what i used to do after not qualifying year after year.
Just how it goes on the day.
What were the conditions like Jon? I was at Purley where there was only a tickle of wind.
Gone to watch Defiance, blog tomorrow.
Sure John will add to but conditions started quite mellow no wind just a drift until around 10.30am.
Cold on your feet we was looking forward to the open field to have a warm.
It was one of those drifts that really didnt show up on the strings but did later across the ponds and fields.
Just before 2nd pond the wind/drift was constantly changing and needed good timing, quickness of shot or plain and simple lucky for the lesser mortals.
One particular shot approx 41 yards, wind rh to left, pulled trigger within 4 secs, it had changed and left 1" yellow paint to the right before hit. Same with no1 in the field, i was wise on the other three.
One of the weirdest targets i had ever seen was number 39 at 46 1/2 yards in the field in a hollow. Considering there was still whitish grass and a bit of wind for the cold chill, gobsmacked at a heat haze looking at target.
Looked like quite a few people were shooting low whether ranging or ficticiously blaming guns. One reason i took the flyer with the half set up Falcon.
Wind did come up later, didnt feel a lot but strings certainly moved less than what you normally expect.
Most wind given at 791 ft/sec was 3/4 a kill out to land some where in.
Many decent shooters were around 3 to 4 down, 3 lanes later 8 down or more. DH was two lanes in front of me he was 3 down after no40, 16 shots later finished 9 down.
So get it wrong, it bit hard.
Course had a lot of thought put in to it, thats what i like to see rather than just chuck a target out.
After shooting just 26 targets i passed to CD my feelings on the course, well deserved and commented its the same course next Sunday, hope its a 40 like them over the ponds and field.
Shotgun start worked a treat, fair for every one.
nice write up jon! spot on
Was this a graded shoot yesterday?
If so % is to be put on to latest grading list.
Reckon i'll start season on 87%
Cmon still AA about 82%
John about 85%
Marc 85%
Karl 84%
Mark 86%
DAZ 84%
Mr C you are AA now with the big boys. All +/- 1% without calculator.
Thats 8 AA graders in club, depth in numbers.
Unbelievably we have only two A graders Mitch and Phil J.
Greg and Roy still B.
...................and me lucky to be so!
Hi guys, a very good film Defiance; worth a watch.
Yes Jonta it is a graded shoot. Also, at the FK both rounds are graded.
I'm may be too nervous to shoot!!
Hi all.
I read the book Shaun, I found it alittle fraught!
Evening Greg, the Blues are 1 up!
Not at the 49th tonight?
It's Tuesday bud, Hoy es martes!
Spozy has been intouch on FB, tlking about a balti maybe around Easter.
Is that Karl eyeing up a Whiscombe? His quest to own all known Air rifles goes on!!!!!!!!!
Blues 2 up!
I've just started a book that is set in the Basque Country.
What's it called?
Guernica
Spanish Cival War then, fiction?
Starts at the turn of the century. Pablo Picasso has just entered the story riding on a donkey. It is describes as about leve, war and family.
eyes v heavy, blog tomorrow
Evening chaps. I'll be paying a quick (probably non-shooting) trip to Greyhound tomorrow to collect a trial hamster from Chris Lee.
Make leve, not war. Catchy!!
sorry Roy, as I said v heeeaavy eyes!
Arsenal on fire!
Just like the Blues!
Royston, how the devil are you squire?
I set up a ton for you & you let it slip!
Well, I became another year older yesterday.
I'll try and get you some balls before the weekend.
Story of my life, Greg.
Has Greg worn his balls out?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROY!!!!!!
BUMPS, BUMPS, BUMPS!
I thought your eyes were heavy!
AFKB for a beer!
Yes Shaun. I tried to sit on them at the weekend and it didn't help my shooting at all.
computer is now keen to go to sleep aswell, night both!
Evening chaps!
Watching the Utd game, Beckham on the bench as Rooney nods in the first goal.
Evening fellas. 30 rounds of .308 down the 49th & I'm off to my girlfriends for a homemade curry shortly.
What's new with everybody........everybody that isn't watching football anyway?
Hi Greg, enjoy the scran!
I no doubt will.
You shooting the 'ride Saturday?
si, tengo un dia libre
A little bird said that a certain Mr O may attend also.
Mr Osborne the shadow chancellor? Now that is unusual!
All we need is Eddie & we'll have a complete Bunch!
Paul may need directions!
Buenas noches amigos!
¿ Tienes un día libre Shaun?
But saturday is ussually day off isnt'it?
Hola Greg. ¿ Qué tal tus clases de español con la profesora Italiana?
Shaun , I've just saw you are reading the Gernika.
Do you know already something about Gernika?. It's the "Basque Nationalism" capital. It was because Franco bombed cruelly the civilians.
Greg talking about food......had a superb Aberdeen Angus hot baguette and a pint at Greyhound today. I didn't shoot though.
Jesus, I had a pint with Shaun after the shooting on Sunday and our thoughts were turning to Euskedi in July.
Hi Roy.
Thanks for your thoughts, not only both, because I'm sure other Millrider's have good thoughts about us.
But first we need to prepare somthing in......Burton Solomon.
There we should planning the NEXT July in Euskadi
Last sunday we had the Long Range competition . Targets located at 75m, 61m. and 50 m.
It's crazy to shoot at long range with 10km/h windy.
Please, find some piccies and report

http://fieldtargeteuskadi.org/index.php?option=com_zoom&Itemid=37&catid=35
We were sharing fond memories of Euskedi with one of our newer shooting friends (Kevin Jones) who we hope will be joining us at Burton Salmon.
Sorry Roy. I was reading other blogs.....
Anyway I'm off to bed. It's too late.
Good night.
Hola Jesus, sorry I missed you. I am enjoying the book very much. Maybe one day I will visit and stand in the shadow of the Oak Tree!
Hasta luego!
Evening guys.
Shaun, here you can find some actual information about Gernika in English.
http://www.gernika-lumo.net/in_index.asp
It's one of the typical towns to visit in Euskadi.
Unfortunately the old Oak was dead some years a go, but new Oaks are ready to be in the site. It's no possible at all to touch the Oak so a big security perimeter is arround the tree, but it's shadow can touch the visitors.
I don't know the contents of the book but probably will be the esence of the Basque people feeling.
I'm very glad you enjoy it!
Evening all.
Just back from a great finish to the week. Me and Eddie went wall climbing for an hour and a half followed by 2 pints of Black Sheep.
Hi all, blogging from my new phone!
Now that's showing off!
As usual I've just woke up!
New gun
New laptop
New phone
New man getting a taste for cosy little shopping trips. It's curtains for you my friend.
By the way, I've bought you a bag of balls today, so you can add new balls to the list.
New woman
Well I enjoyed my rare appearance at Millride yesterday. I dropped only 6 but couldn't put my card in as I'd had another go when I missed. I was surprised by how much wind there was on the lower targets particulrly lane 1.
I'll be there again next Saturday to get some practise before the big event at Anston on sunday.
Good to see you & Paul there yesterday.
You missed a grueller at Far Coley today, if you think that was windy yesterday, think again.
Over 50 yards had to wind mag down to 40 aiming off.
That was a rare appearance Shaun.
Poor show though on 6.
Thanks Jon, I was rather pleased!
I would have loved to go to FC today but maybe the wind you describe would have edged my confidence!
Being a narrow field of view because mainly its a true 50 mag, Niko isnt its less.
Found i had to wind down to 40 mag for over 3 kills of wind.
Next time its windy the VX3 goes back on, mildots useless in 2nd FP.
Going back to old routes giving wind, judging by size of kill how far out with main crosshair.
Missed one yesterday that stupid under range one.
Morning all. Thoughts please, I seem to be missing the longer targets low, I don't think there is a rangeing problem but I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm not low enough on the rifle myself & as a result I'm looking slightly down on the ret. The cheekpiece is at full extention & isn't playing enough of a part in supporting my face either.
Now, Roy suggests heightening the butthook but thinking about it,I think that will have the effect of lowering the actual rifle, surely I need to lower the butthook to bring the back end up. If I do need to heightn the hampster abit, who is the best person to see for higher posts?
Evening gents.
I'm very much looking forward to the Frayed Knot this Sunday. So much that I'm going to the Ride on Saturday for some brief practise.
Oooh Shaun, got the bug now have we.
Two weeks on the trot.
Is this right pay £8 to shoot on Sunday, we have never ever payed before and still got badges.
Theey used to be two 30 shot courses as well, the first one was at Anston 95 or 96 and tended to cycle about every 9 months ie two a year.
Jon, I think (but don't quote me) that only the home shooters pay.
They wont have a team then Shaun.
Cant remember paying last year or any for that matter, think there was only a couple i didnt do all in last 8 years.
I paid last year but NEFTA shooters didn't.
evening lads
hi there millriders. anyboby on line tonight...
Apparently, not.
Evening all!
greeting to you mr chairman...Are you still there
hi Phil how are things up north?
Phil are you shooting Shepreth on Sunday?
things seem ok up north still got to settle in. Jo keeps calling and texting, its all a bit difficult, wont be at shepreth got to much to do. Shame really was looking forward to it. Might not be able to make aston either due to wagon being serviced and MOTed.
That Gold will have to wait until next season. Still, 3 silvers, not bad!
you bet. the time will come. at least now i can concentrate more on what i want and not what others want. How did you finish on saturday at the ride....
I missed 6.
It was tricky at the bottom of the course because of the high bank doing odd things to the wind. At the top of the course there was plenty of wind but it was more predictable.
Not to bad considering the conditions on people like jon can go clear on days like this. His ability to aim 10 ft to right in a left to right wind and still kill the target leaves me gasping in ore.....he he he he....
that northern air must be affecting you!
no. Just been reading some previous comments regading scores on saturday. Quote, That was a rare appearance shaun, poor show only six. PAYBACK>>>>>>
righto I'm off to bed.
See ya Phil!
No more time left, bed time for us truckers now and battery getting a little low so must go. All the best to those shooting sunday Good luck against us northern monkeys.
NIGHT NIGHT BLOGGERS
Great day at Greyhound today thanks to the company of Paul, who has become another convert to the Aberdeen Angus hot baguette. I can feel some good summer evenings coming on there this year.
Good evening roy glad you had a good day. what did you score. Would have been a bit breezie though hey.....
blog seems to have slowed down a bit of late. No one out there tonight.....
shaun, Ian what two days is the kelmarsh shoot on. when i lost my phone lost the texts to. is it sat sun or sun mon. Are you camping out or travelling to and throw...
Evening Phil and Roy. The Kelmarsh is a Sunday - Monday shoot.
Well done Fulham and Liverpool. See you guys at the Ride. Tomorrow is ale time!!
Evening all.
An enjoyable, if wet, day at Millride.
Good evenings Mr C, have you dried out yet?
Got a car for tomorrow, hope it makes it.
It's not been a bad day here weatherwise. Went for a walk in Thetford Forest and then to Diss for food. Oh! and we went to the Dad's Army museum in Thetford, where t6he outdoor scenes were filmed.
Anything of note happen today?
Good luck for tomorrow.
twas very wet.
Paul had his best ever round scoring 26.
It's because I wasn't there to drag him down to my level. How is Greg's love affair with the unnamed Steyr progressing?
Just chucked my coat in the drier, cant get the gun in, bottle topped up ready, now for some slugs.
He dropped 8.
It seems he may be experiencing low MV
goodnight bloggers, I've got to get me shooting sleep!
Goodnight and good luck for tomorrow.
9 actually Shaun, denied on # 29 though I did get the 2 long range jobbies with 1 shot each.
Evening gents. Just back from a terrific day out at Anston.
The event was won by the MFTA and Mr Calpin won the individual; I believe on 55.
Me, Jonta and Mark tied for tenth with Neale Marklew on 49; Neale won the shoot-off.
Well done lads, a shoot off between you all, what are the odds? Good going!
Daz and Ian both on 45, Jon's score cannot be mentioned!!
Sorry for confusing people about how many shoots there were today.
I looked at last years results and it is just one shoot.
I got confused with the Euros.
Thank you Mr C.
Couldnt have got lumbered with a better partner, thats where all the laughs were from. Last 4 years its become too serious with shhh no banter.
Evening gents, any tales from the FK or elsewhere?
On the way back I had to pull into a layby and get 40 winks.
Ian, I see that Anston are running an open on Sunday.
Ere Saun was that your mrs car, couldnt catch you.
Had 4 of the MFTA members down the A38 though.
Sussed out yesterdays fiasco, sorry cant tell you but it wasnt me.
Yes Jon that was the wife's car. I was on the M1 doing a steady 50 in the lengthy roadworks
We got off there A38 to Derby.
My son was gutted his car, couldnt get near you, embarrasing.
Hi folks, I've just realised that I won't be at the 'ride on Saturday due to an eye poking session at the hospital. Shaun, Paul can one of you pick the Steyr up for me please ?
ROY! ROY! Wake up it's all a dream
Greg, I'll bring the Brummy adjusting tool this time, Johny brings the monkey wrench, we both watch and give support to the surgeon.
That will do nicely, 3 points and probably staying up now.
Evening all!
I have just watched Barcelona, what game do they play? It's very entertaining
Maybe if I write "Come on you blue boys" we might equalise.
bugger!
Isn't the world a wonderful place. I feel all dreamy and content. All's well.
Cany ahve this, no activity for two days.
I'm engaged chaps!
Congratulations to Gregory and Louise!!!!!!!!
Greg you wanna live first, too young etc enjoy yourself before marriage.
Only just met her as well, is she up the stick?
New addition to familly on Thursday next week piccied.
12 weeks old, head strong theyve named him Scrappy as in ScrappyDo for good reason.
Well done Greg, and congratulations to you both; I'm delighted for you.
Looking forward to hearing your revised priorities, and views on matters domestic. :)
What was top score today?
One Roy, John and me even though mine dont count. Not bad, changed scopes over 2 mins before, zero unchecked and not used my Leup for 4 weeks.
Go on then, congratulations Gregory.
Lete evening gents. I've just woke up, as usual!
